The Copper Country Cloggers are located in the Keweenaw Peninsula of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, surrounded by Lake Superior. We are a group of recreational cloggers who practice precision clogging in a line dance formation– the objective being to get a team of people to sound as one.

Over the years, clogging has evolved from a free-style dance form into precision steps where routines are choreographed and recorded. Precision, or modern, clogging differs from free-style clogging in that precision clogging enables all dancers to perform the same steps and head-hand gestures in the same sequence.

We meet for weekly practice sessions, year round, at the Dollar Bay-Tamarack City Area Schools in Dollar Bay. We hope to entice others to join the fun and invite you to stop by and experience our “rhythmic racket”. You’ll find us there most Mondays from 7pm - 9pm.

Beginning classes are offered from time to time, and are team taught by Cindy Flood and Darlene Comfort. For more information on our weekly practice sessions, beginning classes, demos, workshops, or performances, please contact us.

Beginner Clogging classes start Thursday, September 24, 2009.

Contact Cindy Flood at 482-7149 or for details.

Classes will be Thursday Evening, 7 to 8 pm at the Dollar Bay High School. There will be 12 weekly sessions and the cost is $30 per person, first night is free. No prior experience or knowledge of clogging is necessary. No partner is needed, but pre-registration is required.
